Cannabis dealer is sentenced

-

A man who was concerned in the supply of cannabis must carry out unpaid work in the community.

Conor Andre, aged 24, of Whitletts Road, Ayr, appeared at the town’s sheriff court on Tuesday, September 10.

He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to a charge of being concerned in the supply of the Class B drug at Whitletts Road on May 16.

Sheriff John Montgomery had deferred sentence on Andre until September 10 in order to obtain a criminal justice social work report.

Andre’s bail conditions were continued.

When he appeared for sentencing last Tuesday his defence solicitor said: “He realises the error of his ways.”

He was found with 60 grammes of cannabis.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie imposed a community payback order which consists of 150 hours of unpaid work in the community to be completed within the next four months.
