Man had rifle bullets
A police search uncovered a man in possession of rifle cartridges, a court was told.
Gordon Robertson, aged 28, of McAdam Square, Ayr, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 10.
At an earlier hearing, he pleaded guilty to being in possession of three 0.22 calibre rifle cartridges without holding a firearms certificate. The offence dates back to October 14, 2017 and took place at Tarbolton Road, Dundonald.
Sheriff John Montgomery had deferred sentence on Robertson in order to obtain reports. When the case returned to court last week, it was revealed that his car was stopped and searched.
Defence solicitor John Gallagher said: “He did not know how to dispose of them. He has co- operated fully and the report is very positive. He had significant difficulties at the time.”
Sheriff Desmond Leslie imposed a community payback order which requires Robertson to carry out 175 hours of unpaid work.
