Bruiser and the dancers

Pupils at Belmont Academy in Ayr have been eagerly rehearsing for November’s school production,‘ Legally Blonde the musical.’

And front and centre will be sixth year pupil Elizabeth Robinson, who is taking on the lead role of Elle Woods.

A school spokespers­on said:“Teachers and students have been working tirelessly at lunchtimes and after school to ensure the production runs smoothly. One extra special cast member making their acting debut will be a real Chihuahua, Cindy, who will perform in all four shows as Elle’s companion Bruiser!”

In taking on the lead performanc­e, Elizabeth said:“Already everyone has been working so hard. I am so excited yet also so anxious to show everyone months of hard work.”

Drama teacher and director Susanne Cassidy said: “The work already produced by the pupils is outstandin­g and their commitment is amazing and awe- inspiring.

“The atmosphere in rehearsals is electric and I couldn’t be prouder of the pupils.”

Show tickets are expected to sell out quickly in what is expected to be Belmont Academy’s boldest production yet.
