Teen menace breaks curfew

A Troon menace has appeared in court for breaching a curfew.

Jack McLean, aged 19, of North Shore Road, Troon, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 28.

He admitted failing to attend his bail address, without a reasonable excuse, between the hours of 7pm and 7am, when police officers called to his home on November 30 last year.

He also admitted committing the offence while on bail from Ayr Sheriff Court in March last year, June last year and October 2018.

His defence solicitor Mr Irvine said: “He was placed on a Community Payback Order in April this year and the progress reports ( on him) are largely positive. My motion would be to simply defer the matter until the intermediate diet. That will allow him to continue to undertake the community payback order. He appears to be complying with the order.” Sheriff Liam Murphy deferred sentence on McLean until October 9 and ordered him to be of good behaviour. McLean’s bail conditions were continued.
