Troon’s Harbour Bar was refused permission to open until 3am for 10 nights in December.

It already has a 2am closing for the month.

The boozer wanted a 2am close on September 28 to marks its 15th anniversar­y but politician­s rejected the applicatio­n.

Dismissing the o c c a s i o n , To r y councillor Bob Pollock said: “Who celebrates 15 years?”

Labour councillor Andy Campbell said: “If we grant 15 years you could come back next year for the 16th anniversar­y. I’m not happy with that.”

The Templehill pub was allowed a 2am close on Saturday, November 2 for Halloween and for two nights during the Live at Troon music festival later this month.
