but you know I love you endlessly.

“Love and miss you always Patzo.”

Former swimming team mate Leigh McLevy added: “I’ve lost my best friend.

“I cannot put into words how this feels. Thank you for everything that you gave me and will continue to give me as I cherish the 12 years that we spent as best friends.

“I will never be able to comprehend how cruel and unfair this world is. However, I can’t tell you how grateful I am that I was blessed to do life with you.

“The last thing I ever said to you was that ‘ You are an angel in human form’. And my goodness I was right. I’m so glad I told you. You are an angel, my angel forever.”

A memorial to celebrate Patrick’s life will be held at Ayr racecourse on Wednesday September 18.

Those who wish to attend are asked to wear ‘ Patrick’s love of colours’.

Police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances but are treating the death as unexplained.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
