Julie was guest

The first get- together of the Dalleagles WRI winter session was held in New Cumnock Town Hall on Thursday, September 12.

President Mary Young welcomed the members and introduced the guest speaker Julie Dougal who presented on Dumfries House.

Julie showed images of past and present areas of the grounds to show how much had been achieved by the devoted team of staff and volunteers over the last decade. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were evident to all and inspiring. After the talk tea was provided by the committee and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mhairi Vallance.

Results: A Jam Jar of Fresh Flowers; 1 Lavinia McGarva; 2 Jane Ross; 3 Mary Young; Favourite Cup and Saucer- 1 Jane Ross; 2 Mhairi Vallance; 3 Liz Macfadyen.

The raffle was drawn, and prizes given out.

The president thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.

The next meeting will be October 10 at 7pm in New Cumnock Town Hall, talk by Gette Fulton ( OBE).
