South has least credit

North Ayrshire has by far the most Universal Credit claimants of the three local areas.

Figures reveal 9029 payments in the north, 7736 in the East and just 5293 in the South.

That’s a total of monthly claimers in Ayrshire of 2205.

In Scotland the total is 215,000 .

And nationwide more than a third of Universal Credit claimants are actually in work. The government claims it is a much simpler system.
