United fans dig deep to fund manager’s spending power
Ayr United fans have ploughed another £ 7000 into the club’s coffers in a bid to help boss Ian McCall buy players.
The fans’ AU500 Fund dished up its latest donation at half time of Saturday’s win over Dundee United.
The presentation was made by members of the Ayr United Travel Club and the Bell Rock Supporters Club, who significantly boosted the donation this month with £ 700 raised from a football match between the groups.
Director Alan Murray said: “It’s fantastic to see the continuing success of the AU500 Fund and great initiatives like the fund- raising football match.”
“The fans are the lifeblood of the club and the passion and commitment from the AU500 Fund and our supporters’ clubs are clear to see.
“Hopefully the fund continues to grow, and we see more and more people coming to Somerset Park to roar on the team.”
