Two walks available for Ayr Ramblers

On Sunday, Ayr & District Rambling Club are offering two walks.

For the more strenuous walk, near Kirkconnel, the route starts at the small car park at Kirkland ( NS724141) and heads towards the remains of the old St Connel’s Church, which had some significance during the time of the Covenanters.

The total distance is just under 12 miles, and the height climbed will be about 375 metres. For details, contact Janice Clarke on 01292 221026.

A second group wi l l travel to Eaglesham for a fairly easy circular walk of approximately nine miles.

After heading along the B764 for a few miles, the route will ascend on open moorland, eventually reaching the small cairn on Ballageich Hill.
