New president opens meeting

The new president at Muirkirk SWI, Mrs Susann Hillditch, opened the first 2019/ 20 session in the Community Wing by welcoming members on Tuesday, September 10.

She introduced Lesley Garven who gave the ladies a very interesting film show of photographs she had taken all over Scotland. She also ventured into England to take a photo of field mice on an ear of corn.

The show was entitled “Seasons of the Year” and members saw many birds and animals in their natural environment.

Lesley judged the competitions and the results are: Pot Plant– 1st Ella Kirk, 2nd Grace Cowan, 3rd Stephanie Essex; Favourite Photo – 1st Susann Hillditch, 2nd Susann Hillditch, 3rd Julie Brodie.
