Cooks whip up a storm at national food forum
A leading hotel chain allowed Ayrshire college students to turn masterchef in its kitchens.
It was all part of National Chef’s conference at Costley & Costley’s Lochgreen House Hotel in Troon.
Scotland’s Professional Chef’s Forum featured the latest food ideas and techniques through demonstrations and panel discussions.
The event brought together some of the country’s s best chefs, food producers and personalities.
Nine SVQ Professional Cookery students watched and supported cookery demos and two HNC Hospitality students supported the Front of House throughout the event.
A panel discussion featured Bill Costley and well- known industry chefs, Mark Greenaway of Edinburgh restaurant Grazing, Lorna NcNee from Gleneagles Hotel and Jonathan McDonald from Glasgow’s Ox & Finch restaurant.
Hospitality lecturer, Euan Currie, said:“The conference was a great success, attended by delegates from both industry and education, with fantastic demonstrations from heavyweights of the industry showcasing the produce and talent that Scotland has to offer, with their diverse and knowledgeable skill set.
“The Q and A session was a great end to the day for us all.”
