D- Day to join the fun at Ayr Classic Road Run
Under starter’s orders for three great races
We’re under starter’s orders for the first Ayr Classic Road Run over the world- famous racecourse on Sunday morning.
Although the official deadline for discount entries has gone, you can still enter this fantastic of running up to an hour before your selected race.
Ayr Racecourse hosts three great runs designed for all ages and all abilities, from elite runners to toddlers.
Everyone will be a winner with a package that includes free T- shirt, exclusive horsehoe medal and official chipped time.
And entry for family and friends to cheer you on is absolutely free.
Ayr is flat, free of traffic ( and horses) - just perfect for setting a personal best.
Take your pick from:
The Ayr Classic Five Mile Road Run, £ 20. Starts at 11.45am.
The Classic Family Mile, open to three to eight year olds. The £ 10 entry includes one adult and up to three children. Starts at 11am.
The Scottish Building Society Junior Road Run, open to nine to 15 year olds. £ 10. Starts at 10am.
First man and first women past the finishing post in the five- mile event will pick up £ 500 each, with £ 250 for second and £ 100 for third.
However, that pot will double to £ 1000 for winners who break the men’s and women’s Scottish fivemile records, which have stood for 30 and 20 years respectively.
The Ayrshire Post, official media partners, will be there to capture all the fun and the action.
