The Music of Carole King is a brand new production coming to The Gaiety in Ayr on October 24.

Celebratin­g one of the world’s most prolific songwriter­s, we take a step back in time through the music that defined an era.

We follow the story from early beginnings in New York in that hotbed of creativity that was the Brill Building to life in LA, The Troubadour Club and the singer- songwriter movement of early 70’ s California.

Featuring not only songs f rom the Carole King songbook but also hits written and recorded by some of the greatest artists and song writing partnershi­ps such as Aretha Franklin, The Drifters, The Shirelles, The Monkees, The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, Dusty Springfiel­d, Little Eva, Herman’s Hermits and James Taylor.

Co- producer Ged Graham said: “Carole King is one of the most influentia­l songwriter­s in pop music history.

“Her music has rocked the world for so long and all the songs have been laced into the fabric of life for over 60 years.

“This production is a showcase not only the music but her story and just how much she has been a force that has shaped pop music.”

With a cast of the UK’s finest musicians, singers and dancers covering over 6 decades of iconic music, Carole: The music of Carole King is a show for all the family and promises to have you on your feet!
