Captain Jack is attacked
A well- loved pirate was left a nervous wreck after being attacked in broad daylight.
A brute pounced on Captain Jack Sparrow look- a- like Andy Macdonald after tampering with his custom skull and crossbones- themed trike.
Dad- of- three Andy – who uses the name Andy Depp – blasted: “I didn’t expect this kind of thing – it erupted in front of kids. I’ve made appearances all over the world without any trouble at all.”
A well- loved pirate was attacked in broad daylight in the middle of Troon.
A brute pounced on Captain Jack Sparrow lookalike Andy Macdonald after tampering with his skull and crossbones galleon motor- trike. Andy – who uses the name Andy Depp as a professional look- alike – blasted: “What is Troon coming to? I didn’t expect this kind of thing – it erupted in front of kids.
“I’ve made appearances all over the world without any trouble at all.”
The attack happened around 4.30pm on Saturday in Portland Street.
When he came out of a charity shop, two men were at his machine, called the Beach’d Pearl.
Dad- of- three Andy, 48, said: “Two guys were at the trike and the elder and bigger of the two was manhandling it. I politely asked him not to touch it and even had a smile on my face.
“But he flipped and started shouting ‘ Do you know who I am, I’ll kill you’.
“He grabbed me by my hair and held me down and tried to punch me before taking my phone.
“I got up and he wouldn’t give the phone back, still shouting, and a passer- by stopped in between us.”
The grey- haired thug is described as mid- sixties and stocky and was wearing a red short- sleeved T- shirt, khaki body- warmer and jeans.
Andrew, who lives in the town and is an accomplished artist, earns a living portraying Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp. He has been Cap’n Jack’s double for 10 years, performing at parties, corporate events and for charities including Live@ Troon and the Troon Taxi run.
The attack was seen by a family, including two small children, in a parked car.
Police Sergeant Dean Barlas said: “We received reports of a disturbance between males in Portland Street and would appeal for any witnesses.”
