Yob drags 70- year- old mum across path

As she ran through to the dining room area shouting on her husband, Rutherford kicked her twice in the stomach, causing her to fall and hit her head on the wooden floor.

Hearing the commotion, Alan Rutherford, 65, took hold of his son but was punched several times to the face causing him to bleed.

When Mrs Rutherford got back to her feet she noticed she was bleeding from the head.

She then made attempts to phone the police but the line was dead.

In a desperate attempt to seek help, Mrs Rutherford ran to her neighbours home.

But an enraged Rutherford chased after her, grabbed her by the jumper and dragged her 15ft across a gravel path back to the property.

The neighbours eventually came to the door and attempted to calm Rutherford down but he lashed out and repeatedly attempted to punch the 67- year- old neighbour on the head.

Both Mr and Mrs Rutherford were bleeding heavily from their respective head injuries. Police later arrested Rutherford where he admitted to officers there was “an incident” and told them: “I went mental and punched f*** out of my dad. I hate the c***.”

Alan Rutherford received three stitches to a 5cm slash directly above his right eye, which has resulted in him being left with a small scar. He also suffered bruising to his arms.

Sarah Rutherford suffered a fractured pelvis and a cut to the back of head which was treated with staples.

Sentencing for the brute was adjourned until later this month for reports. Bail was refused.
