Wearing kilts to feed hungry children

-

Big- hearted fundraisers have decided to wear a kilt EVERY DAY for the rest of the year to help feed hungry youngsters.

The team at Launch Digital, based on Ayr’s Wellington Square, began the Kilts Feed Kids campaign this month. Staff will wear specially designed kilts every working day for the remainder of 2020 in aid of Launch Foods – which distributes healthy afterschool meals to children.

The charitable initiative provide up to 300 Scottish kids who might otherwise go hungry with a nutritious main, bottled water and fresh fruit.

Launch Foods provided more than 70,000 meals using surplus food from supermarkets and suppliers last year.

David Wilkinson, MD of Launch Digital said: “First we created a brand- new tartan, now accepted onto the Scottish Register as ‘ Launch Pink’. Our good friends at Slanj agreed to manufacture and sell the kilts, with all profits going to provide healthy food for kids who need it.

“The commitment to wear our kilts with pride for the rest of 2020 was Richard Longmuir’s idea and it’s our attempt to raise awareness, and additional funds for the Kilts Feed Kids project.”
