A tree- mendous roost for family

A couple of steps to Rozelle Estate

- STEPHEN HOUSTON

Not many streets have only one side to them.

Burness Avenue does. The other side of the avenue is entirely made up of Rozelle Estate.

And that makes this Alloway backwater a very leafy and peaceful place to live.

You will probably be gently woken from slumber by bird song.

This week we showcase a wonderful five bedroom home, on offer at a price above £ 350,000.

It has been extended since built in the 1970s and has a corner plot.

In another unusual quirk Burness Ave ( presumably named in honour of Rabbie’s dad William Burness) has a cul- de- sac off it, though it keeps the same name.

Number 42 sits at the entrance to this enclave.

There are four reception rooms downstairs and five bedrooms up.

A double width hall has a w. c. off and it all flows rather well.

The near 22 feet lounge has double doors to the rear- facing dining room.

The dining room in turn has a door to the dining kitchen. So you can get everybody fed and watered quickly wherever they are.

To the front is a separate twin aspect sitting room, making a lovely refuge from the family when required.

The kitchen diner is 21ft 10ins by 14 ft 11in, centered by a cooking island with designer extraction fan. Surfaces are granite.

There is also a further utility room off this area, good for keeping the noisy and dirty stuff separate.

The house is being sold through Corum in Ayr, who say: “There are quality fixtures and fittings throughout, extensive fitted storage/ wardrobe space, luxury sanitary ware and oak panelling, doors and skirtings.”

Upstairs the master bedroom has an en- suite shower room.

And much attention has been paid to the main family bathroom.

It has a walk- in shower, bath and sink and loo suite. Tiling is to wall and floor.

There are wrap- round gardens with lawn, borders and mature trees to increase privacy.

You get a double garage, summer house and greenhouse.

A great package, perfectly wrapped. For viewing contact Corum on 01292 880888. Offers over £ 350,000.
