Scott Chatham claimed decisions cost nine man Troon after they continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2- 2 draw away to Beith.

Two second- half red cards allowed the hosts to battle back for a point after goals from Jordan Morton and Ryan Stevenson in the first 17 minutes gave the Seasiders a dream start.

A controversial second yellow for James McGowan four minutes after the interval was followed by a straight red for Jack Sherrie with 10 minutes to go.

Beith cashed in when Conner McGinchey fired home a penalty and sealed the fightback with a curling freekick.

Vice- captain Chatham, Troon’s longest serving player, claimed: “I’m gutted but immensely proud of the players. Decisions ultimately cost us the three points but we battled like mad with nine men.”

Assistant boss Dean Keenan added: “Stevo’s workrate was outstanding from start to finish – he sets the tone for us magnificently.”
