CADDIS LANDS JOB

- BY MIKE WILSON

Ryan Caddis wants to bring the fear factor to Craigmark after being named as the club’s new boss.

The former Ayr United, Stranraer and Alloa winger takes over from Graeme Neil who has stood down to concentrate on other commitments.

And he immediately set out his stall to make his mark in his first crack at management.

Caddis, 35, said: “I want opponents to dread coming to Craigmark and make us competitive and hard to beat.

“We won’t be a soft touch and I want us to challenge at the top end of the table.”

Caddis will bring in long standing pals Andy Bell and Ian Kearney as coaches and hopes to enlist young brother Paul, who has recently left Swindon, to take a couple of training sessions.

His other brother Liam has recently signed for Cumnock where Ryan spent last season before joining Craigmark on loan as a player.

Ryan added: “I have always been a winner. I captained Winton Rovers to the league, won every amateur honour with Hurlford Thistle and got to a Scottish Junior Cup final and three semi-finals with Irvine Meadow and Hurlford.

“I want to take that into management but know I’m a novice and will make mistakes which hopefully I will learn from.”

Caddis began his career with Annbank before joining Hurlford, the first of his three stints at Blair Park.

He won a move to Ayr in 2006 and recalled: “They were my first senior club and I had my eyes opened but I learned a lot under Robert Connor.”

Caddis, who also had a spell with Girvan, claimed: “I’m hungry and enthusiastic – I’ll give Craigmark everything I’ve got.”

A club spokesman said: “Ryan has a wealth of experience at both senior and junior level and has now decided it is time to move into management.

“All at Craigmark are delighted to have him on board.”
