Scran vows to bounce back

-

Staff at a popular kiosk have pledged to rebuild and return‘bigger and better than ever’ following the blaze which ripped through Troon train station.

The team behind the Troon Kiosk and‘Scran At The Station’were among those to flee as the blaze took hold.

Mercy crews were scrambled as the station caught fire, with smoke billowing into the Ayrshire sky for miles around.

Posting on social media, kiosk owner Pam Main said:“Hello everyone.

“Just to let you all know everyone got out safe and we are all okay...

“I am absolutely gutted as you can imagine especially for my team and my son Kyle...

“I am taking a break from social media to get my head around what has just happened so please don’t be offended if I do not respond.

“I hope you all understand I just need time out to process what has just happened.

“To all the team thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing by my side today I can’t tell you how much I appreciated it.”

Son Kyle added:“We are all safe but just devastated with the situation.

“One thing we promise is we will rebuild and we will be back bigger and better than before.”

The neighbouring Claire’s Hair Station also had to be evacuated as the fire took hold shortly before 1pm.

Large parts of the station have been left destroyed by the devastating blaze.

Trains are out of action until at least Friday.

Now a fundraiser has been set up for the family running the kiosk by pals desperate to help out with ensuing costs.

It reads:“I have created this page in the hopes to try and raise some money to help Scran at the station and Troon station kiosk.

“The day time Troon station kiosk has been operating for 14 years by the amazing Pam and Scran at the station is their new venture that she created with her son Kyle through the pandemic and has been a massive success.

“Unfortunately today there has been a devastating fire at Troon station that has tore through their business and they won’t be able to operate for some time.

“After what has been a devastating time for businesses this year as it is.

“Let’s all do what we can to continue to support their small business. Thank you in advance for any donations.”
