Summer work continues in constituency
Since I last wrote, Parliament has gone into summer recess, but constituency business continues.
I have had the pleasure of attending several events across Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, meet with various stakeholders to hear of exciting projects or issues that they wish to highlight, and my team and I continue to deal with constituent enquiries across a number of different topics.
If any Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley residents wish to raise any issues or concerns with me, you can now contact me on 01290 319126 or go to elenawhitham.scot for more information.
Over the remainder of the summer months, I am keen to speak to as many community groups across the constituency to hear what matters most to you and what I as the constituency MSP can do to assist.
I have already met up with several groups, both virtually and in person but would like to hear from you if you have any matters you wish to raise.
Please email me at elena.whitham. msp@parliament.scot and one of my team will be happy to arrange a meeting.
Covid restrictions across all parts of Scotland moved to level one earlier this week and with them, more normality.
However, some key public health measures remain such as continuing to wear face masks in public and crowded spaces.
This is a time for continued caution and to take the tough decisions necessary to help safeguard the health and wellbeing of the country.
Thankfully since the beginning of this month, cases of the virus have steadily decreased across all parts of Ayrshire whilst the vaccination rollout continues but we mustn’t let our guard down against this virus.
The Parliament will be recalled on August 3 when the First Minister will hopefully announce further updates on our route out of restrictions.
