Councillors’ time is up!

The public getting what the public doesn’t want seems to be a running theme with South Ayrshire Council. Last week, we had the Riverside“car showroom”being approved despite noone actually liking it, no-one really wanting it and against all the rules of the Council’s own Local Development Plan.

This week, we learn the SAC’s refuse dumps are going to be“by appointment”. You can go online – or book by telephone – and they’ll give you a time to drop off that knackered old fridge or busted lawnmower.

It seems that the current scheme – go when it suits YOU – just doesn’t suit THEM anymore!

It’s utter madness. Those who can’t get a suitable time – or just can’t be bothered – will dump their stuff at a quiet spot in shadow of the night.

It’s called‘fly-tipping’.

Every local authority in the UK is desperately trying to inhibit it.
