I read with amazement the responses of South Ayrshire’s CEO, Eileen Howat, in last week’s Post.

To ban the press and public from council meetings for 16 months – citing ‘Covid regulations’ – is bad enough.

But to try and meekly defend it in the way she did, almost pointing the finger of blame at others for taking the decision out of her hands, is beyond me.

If ever we needed proof that these people live in a parallel universe and are kidding themselves on that they’re actually serving the voters, this was it.
