100 YEARS AGO

A new organ, gifted to Dailly Parish Church by Mr and Mrs Todd, of Trochrague, Ayrshire, will be dedicated and inaugurated today in front of a packed congregation.

There was also a serious incident involving a miner at one of the local pits.

Charles Morgan was seriously injured at the Barganny Pit in Girvan when a falling stone from a roof struck the man.

Mr Morgan was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
