Dew beauty!

Jim Dewar was crowned this year’s Ayr Belleisle Open champion on Sunday.

The event, sponsored by DW Shaw Solicitors, drew a full entry.

On a very warm and sunny day, good scores were difficult to come by due to the firm and fiery course.

A round of nett 68 by Billy Thomson (Tam o’Shanter) set the early place in just the second game out on the course.

Chris Rimmer (Ayr Belleisle) and John Fergusson (P’wick St Cuthbert) followed him into the clubhouse with rounds of 67.

The scratch prize was won by Drew Cleaver (Ayr Belleisle) with 72.

However, the worthy winner of the Rozelle Trophy with a nett 66 was Dewar of Ayr Belleisle.
