Shorter weekfor staff
Ayrshire’s leading hospitality chain is to trial a shorter working week at one of its top venues.
Buzzworks is to temporarily close Lido in Prestwick each Monday to “protect staff wellbeing and productivity.”
The move comes in a bid to “combat staff shortages felt across the hospitality industry,” the company said.
Bosses insisted they are looking to recruit new members while making the move to scale back hours.
Kenny Blair, Buzzworks CEO, said: “The hospitality is struggling to attract and retain top talent, both front of house and within the kitchen. Our team at Lido Prestwick won’t see a cut in their pay and we will monitor how temporarily closing on a Monday works at the venue along with further potential measures to protect our teams across the business.”
