Step up to help Hansel

-

Ayrshire charity Hansel is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to step up for this year’s Kiltwalk challenge.

The popular event will take place on Sunday, September 26 in Glasgow and registration is free for those signing up in aid of Hansel.

Participants can either take part in the Mighty Stride which is 16.5miles or The Wee Wander Walk which is 3.5 miles.

Agnes Paton, Hansel fundraising and communications manager, said, “It’s fantastic that the Kiltwalk is able to make a safe return as it really is a popular event and there is always a terrific atmosphere.

“The Kiltwalk team have been working hard to bring the event back whilst putting the safety of the walkers first. It’s a great opportunity for all the family to get involved, even the dog is welcome, and we’re truly thankful for everyone’s support.”

Spaces are limited to ensure the safety of walkers and to take advantage of the free registration participants need to log on to the kiltwalk.co.uk and enter the promotion code appropriate to the distance - Hansel Mighty 100 to take part in the Mighty Stride Hansel Wee 100 to take part in the Wee Wander and Hansel Kids 100 to take part in the Wee Wander Kids.

Since The Hunter Foundation began supporting The Kiltwalk in 2015 it has raised almost £21m. Every penny and every pound of the £13.9m raised by Kiltwalkers was paid out to 2,100 different charities and this was topped-up by a whopping £6.7 million by The Hunter Foundation.

Hansel, which supports people in Ayrshire living with learning disabilities and autism, is participating in the event for the third time.
