Have your say on Troon Station restoration
On Saturday SNP party members overwhelmingly voted on an agreement to bring two Greens into the Scottish Government.
Whilst it’s not a formal coalition, it is a refreshing change in how we“do” politics in Scotland.
The Scottish Government will be focussing on the climate emergency, recovering from the pandemic and stopping the Conservatives from stripping away the powers of the Scottish Parliament are high on the agenda.
Troon railway station is to be restored as it was. As work to rebuild Troon railway station after July’s devastating fire continues, I met with the Transport Minister Graeme Dey and Network to get an update on plans. Network Rail staff briefed us on how the outside of the station will be restored like-for-like with canopies replaced, while the inside of the station would take on a more modern and contemporary feel. The drawings
for how the station will look are still in the early stages and when ready will be put out to a public consultation so that the people of Troon can have their say on how they would like the station restored.
Once again, I would like to thank the emergency services who attended the fire that day and I am also grateful to Network Rail for their tireless work in getting services through the station up and running again.
It has been a very busy summer recess but now it is back to business for the Scottish Parliament.
I have been appointed Convenor of the Covid-19 Recovery Committee and met with my committee last week to discuss business moving forward and had some very interesting guest speakers such as Professor Devi Sridhar who updated us on the current Covid -19 pandemic and the threat of future variants and potential future challenges. My team and I have been busy over the summer recess, trying to help people with a variety of issues.
Please email me at siobhian.brown. msp@parliament.scot and my team and I will do what we can to help.
