Vow to pick up brush after suffering strokes
McCoo artist Steven Brown insisted he’ll still be able to pick up a brush despite suffering TWO strokes.
The Ayr painter was whisked into hospital last week after suffering a stroke at home.
The 49-year-old has broken his silence since the ordeal telling worried fans that he suffered two strokes in the past six months.
His official page told how Mr Brown is recovering at home and is in a stable condition. On his personal Facebook page the artist told fans in an emotional post that he still feels“very weak”and that even writing the post was a challenge.
The artist also thanked his fans and members of the art community for their well-wishes and support whilst he bounced back from the stroke. He vowed to cut down on smoking to get back to full health.
Taking to his Facebook Mr Brown said:“It seems I’ve had two strokes, one about six months ago and of course last week. I have read every message, everywhere and I cannot begin to say how that makes me me feel.
“Thank god I still have use of my painting hand because if it was the other - omg.”
Mr Brown shot to fame with his colourful animal paintings, the most well known being his outlandish depictions of Highland Cows.
Mr Brown is being used as an ambassador by the English firm who bought the rights to the McCoo brand just days before his Ayr-based firm collapsed in July 2019. The liquidation of the £11.5 million turnover firm killed the jobs of 21 staff and creditors were owed thousands.
