Vanand bike smash cause delays
A carriageway on Ayrshire’s busiest road was closed on Friday afternoon following a road traffic smash between a van and motorbike.
The A77 southbound was closed to all vehicles with police attending the crash.
Traffic Scotland reported that there had been a road traffic collision, near Coodham, just outside Symington.
Road users reported huge delays on the stretch of road and drivers were urged to use an alternative route.
Traffic Scotland’s website said: “A77 southbound is currently closed at Coodham due to a road traffic incident.
“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were made aware of a crash on the A77 southbound between Kilmarnock and Symington, involving a van and a motorcycle around 12.40pm on Friday, January 28.”
