She is also a World and European title holder.

Kayleigh joins the organisation as a permanent member and will take on an Active Schools Co-ordinator role for Disability Sport.

A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Active Schools said: “We are delighted to welcome the inspirational Kayleigh to our team permanently as our Active Schools Coordinator for Disability Sport.

“Many of you will know Kayleigh Haggo for her outstanding performances on track as a GB athlete but also for inspiring young people and adults across South Ayrshire.

“Kayleigh first worked with our team as a student volunteer when at Ayrshire College and University of the West of Scotland before developing Inspire Girvan alongside Girvan Community Sports Hub.

“We were then lucky to be able to offer Kayleigh a role as project worker thanks to our Employability and Skills teams Supported Employment programme.

“Kayleigh works tirelessly to challenge barriers and to make sure there are loads of opportunities for everyone to take part in sport and physical activity. She is awesome and we can’t wait to see where she takes the project next.”
