MSP’s concern over Covid law
South Scotland Conservative list MSP, Sharon Dowey, has expressed her concerns over the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Bill.
And she is urging Ayrshire residents to share their views in the consultation.
As part of the scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s legislation on making emergency powers permanent, the COVID-19 Recovery Committee has set-up a short survey to make everyone’s voices heard.
And Mrs Dowey said:“Whether you are in favour or against Scottish Government’s new bill, it is important to share your views.
“One of the powers in this bill would allow the Scottish Government to bypass the Scottish Parliament.
“We should be asking ourselves is that necessary or proportionate?
“Politicians come and go but legislation can stay in place for decades. It’s only right that the public are able to make their voice heard on this important issue.”
