Historyof townat group’s firstmeet

Carrick History Society are holding their first event in collaboration with the Maybole Regeneration Project.

‘A Journey Through Time’ on Sunday March 6 at 1pm in Goudies, Maybole, will be the first in a series of historical workshops.

Historian James Brown will be delivering a talk on what Maybole was like during the 100 years before the railway was introduced.

Attendees will then be encouraged to carry out their own research in order to build up a picture of the town before the railway that will become an exhibition for the rest of the town.

President, Simon Glendenning said ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for people to learn proper historical research techniques.

“We are so pleased to be joined by James who is an expert in research.’
