Standforcouncil

I was pleased to note in the Ayrshire Post February 23 ) that Chic Brodie, has declared he will stand for election to South Ayrshire Council.

I would encourage all those who have consistently questioned decisions made by councillors, to stand for election at the forthcoming election on May 5. I therefore look forward to Bob Shields, the esteemed Ayrshire Post Columnist putting his hat in the ring and standing for Public Office. Week after week, as one of the council’s biggest critics Bob publicly lambasts, those who have been elected to serve on the council, which of course he has every right to do so. Bob Shields now has the opportunity with all his business experience, knowledge and wisdom to put this to the test. I am sure Bob would be elected no problem and we could all benefit from his wise decisions, along with the many other independent candidates who wish to stand for election. This will be no easy task for any party or individual, making tough decisions, which affect our day to day life. Go on Bob, are you up for the challenge, to serve the people, or will you just continue to carp from the sidelines? You and others have until March 30 to hand in your nomination papers.
