Village lads set to brave the shave in pub all for a good cause

An intrepid bunch of village lads are preparing to Brave the Shave for Cancer Research UK.

Several men from Colmonell are getting together to raise funds for the charity by doing a group‘Brave to Shave’ on Saturday, March 19 at 7pm.

The group (pictured above) includes: Alan Porter, Stuart Clarke, Dougie Robertson, Mark Hurst, Paul Brooks.

Ivan Babenko, Steve Day and Ross McCreadie.

They will all take part in the event at the local pub, The Boarshead Hotel, in Colmonell, South Ayrshire. On the night additional fundraisin­g will take place, alongside a raffle in order to raise as much money as possible.

The fundraisin­g has reached £630 and the y hope to raise in excess of £1,000.

A spokespers­on said:“Come along and support this great cause and join in the fun. There will be raffle prizes to be won on the night.”

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years thanks to new research.
