The Daily Record Pride of Scotland Awards, in partnership with TSB, are back for a third year, to celebrate ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and to honour unsung Scottish heroes who have transformed the lives of people around them.

As we begin to emerge from two years of lockdowns and restrictions, Pride of Scotland will be a joyful celebration of amazing Scots, their courage and resilience, in an emotional evening packed with laughter and uplifting surprise moments.

Winners may have performed outstanding single acts of courage, fought seemingly hopeless battles against the odds, displayed boundless compassion or inspired everyone with their tireless campaigning for others.

Nominees could be five or 105 – heroism has no age barrier. And they could have changed one life or changed the world.

Pride of Scotland is the newest national Awards from the Pride of Britain team.

Since the first Pride of Britain in 1999, royalty, prime ministers, and hundreds of leading figures from showbusiness, sport, politics, and the arts have taken part.

And Pride of Scotland is no different, with famous faces taking part including the Duchess of Cornwall, Sir Rod Stewart, James Corden, Steven Gerrard, Martin Clunes, Alesha Dixon, Sir Cliff Richard, Jarvis Cocker, Sharleen Spiteri, Annie Lennox, Midge Ure, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Prue Leith, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Bear Grylls, Sir Trevor McDonald and chat show queen Lorraine Kelly.

Awe-inspiring Pride of Scotland 2021 winners included the first black professor in Scotland who has been a powerful voice in the Black Lives Matter movement, a young schoolboy who became the world’s first child to receive a “heart in a box”, a teenager who pushed himself to the limit in his wheelchair in a gruelling 1,700-mile charity challenge and the Scottish men’s football team for their inspirational run to the finals of the European Championship.
