Results are in for snappers’ annual print competition
Ayr Photographic Society recently held their annual print competition.
And the results are an eclectic mix, each telling their own story.
This year the judge was John McVie DPAGB EFIAP, of Dumfries Camera Club.
Bill Ryder and Willie McCracken took Advanced and Intermediate section wins respectively, while Mike Blair was awarded Best Monochrome Print.
The overall win on the night, and award of the prestigious Provost
Shield, was scooped by Alastair Swan for his stunning image, entitled ‘The Boathouse’.
Judge John McVie said it was of exceptional quality, and particularly enjoyed the near monochrome muted image with just a touch of warm colour.
Ayr Photographic Society is also pleased to announce the return of their Annual Photographic Exhibition held at Rozelle Galleries, Ayr, from April 16 until May 29.
Please come along and support the society and see many of wonderful images taken by its members.
must be from the personal finances of those promoting the pool.

I am getting in touch as Ayrshire Cancer Support will be hosting an event for their volunteer drivers on Sunday March 20 to celebrate their 40-year anniversary.
Ayrshire Cancer Support will be hosting a ride out event with volunteer drivers to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
Although this event is exclusive to drivers, I feel it would be good for the community to know it is happening and can celebrate virtually through our social media with us!
This event is a token of appreciation towards the drivers and how they have helped continue to make the transport service what it is today.
The drive starts from Kyle Academy, the drivers will then pass both our Ayr and Kilmarnock centres before finishing their journey at Puffers Café in Irvine.
This year, the charity will be hosting a series of events to contribute towards the 40-year celebrations, with recognition towards volunteers and ambassadors as well as recognising the impact that the charity has on the local community.
One of our volunteer drivers Yvonne received the British Empire Medal (BEM), which she accepted on behalf of the volunteer drivers and all of Yvonne’s patients.
Ayrshire Cancer Support’s 40th anniversary is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the free support services that the charity offers to patients, their Children and Young People’s service and the new support centre in Ayr.
Ayrshire Cancer Support operates to provide emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer.
