Bookworms on same page

A housebuilder partnered with a book shop to donate £250 worth of vouchers to clever schoolchildren.

Miller Homes helped bookworms at Kilmaurs Primary to celebrate World Book Day’s 25th anniversary.

They teamed up with Stewarton gem The Book Nook to make the scheme possible.

Pupils from the school welcomed a visit from Miller Homes’ Evergreen Manor Development sales manager, Alison Darroch, while outlining their spending plans for the vouchers.

Louise Caldwell, sales director for Miller Homes Scotland West, said: “Literacy is such an important part of the school journey, and we want to help make books accessible for all.

“Supporting the communities we build in is key to our new developments, and it’s wonderful we’re able to help both our primary school and retail as part of this global celebration of reading.”

Sarah Frame, owner of The Book Nook Stewarton, added: “We run a wide range of workshops for youngsters in the community and are home to a great variety of children’s books for all ages from pre-school to young adult.

“We’re delighted to partner with Miller Homes to help inspire and educate children on the wonders of reading.”
