RAMPAGING GANG BURST INTO HOMES IN DAYLIGHT RAID TERROR

Hunt for hooded men who made off with jewellery and cash haul

Four hooded men made off with a haul of jewellery and cash during a terrifying raid on two homes in broad daylight.

The gang barged into the houses and demanded property from the frightened occupants.

The ordeal began in Ayr’s Fenwicklan­d Avenue on Saturday at 2.40pm.

Ayr MSP Siobhian Brown said: “These horrific robberies have left the community shaken.

“For two homes to be targeted in broad daylight is nothing short of shocking.”

Ward councillor Mary Kilpatrick added: “I am shocked and surprised that something like this has occurred in a residentia­l area.

“I think it is alarming.”

Four hooded men left two households terrified when they barged into their houses in Ayr’s Fenwicklan­d Avenue on Saturday at 2.40pm.

The frightenin­g ordeal began when the group demanded property from their victims.

The intruders fled with a twofigure sum of cash and jewellery.

Ayr MSP Siobhian Brown said: “These horrific robberies have left the community shaken.

“For two homes to be targeted in broad daylight is nothing short of shocking.

“Someone out there knows who did this, and I would urge them to speak to the police. I would also urge everyone to be vigilant and keep doors locked until these criminals are caught.”

Ward councillor Mary Kilpatrick added : “I am shocked and surprised that something like this has occurred in a residentia­l area.

“I think it is alarming. Surely someone seen something.

“I hope they can get help to find out who did this.

“I would urge people with any informatio­n to contact the police.”

The Post contacted police to ask them what type of jewellery was stolen in a bid to help trace the suspects. We also wanted to know if any of the victims had been hurt or threatened and if the assilants were armed during the robbery.

A police spokesman replied that they could not give out further details due to operationa­l reasons.

The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing. and had their hoods up and and faces covered.

Detective constable Stuart McCulloch, from Ayr CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone who was in the Fenwicklan­d Avenue area around 2.30 on Saturday afternoon who witnessed anything suspicious to please come forward.”
