Yob attacks five in pub brawl

-

A Troon man has admitted assaulting five people amid a pub brawl.

Trent Young attacked patrons, staff and police at Ross’s Original Bar in Glasgow city centre on September 19, 2021.

The 29-year-old initially behaved in a threatening or abusive manner that night.

Court papers state he shouted, swore and uttered offensive remarks.

Young then went on to punch an unknown woman on the head.

He also punched an unknown man to the head which caused him to fall to the ground.

An employee also had her clothing seized and was punched on the head.

The worker then fell to the ground and was injured as a result.

Young and co-accused Shiree Dillon, 38, of Kilmarnock, also pushed the same woman against a wall and pulled her hair.

Another worker was punched on the head as well as his body and was also injured.

A constable was punched to the body, kicked and head butted which resulted in his injury.

Young then obstructed, hindered or resisted three police officers by struggling violently with them.

Dillon also admitted a similar offence by knocking a police officer’s hat from his head.

John Kilcoyne, defending, told the court: “He is selfemployed with four children and he realises this is a very serious offence.”

Sheriff Gerard Bonnar deferred sentence until next month and added: “In relation to Mr Young, this is serious conduct.”

Young and Dillon had their bail continued meantime.
