Two arrested after serious assault

Two people have been arrested after a man was attacked in the street.

The 30-year-old was taken to Crosshouse Hospital following the serious assault in Auchinleck’s Old Avenue on Sunday at 5.45pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Sunday, March 20, police received a report of a man having been assaulted in Old Avenue, Auchinleck.

“Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock.

“A 29-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
