Talk of the town from our social media
Roads are ‘crumbling’ across South Ayrshire and it estimated it would cost a staggering £46m to fix them.
Jen Andrew
The Dalrymple roads every time they shut the A77. Don’t send all the lorries etc through the village if you’re not going to repair the roads after!
Jim Wallace
What’s the best road in Ayr. I do delivery work and to be honest can’t name one.
Cameron Findlay
Kincaidston , the road to the farms are better
Caroline Given
Forehill Road in Ayr is appalling
Alice K Blakemore
People pay road tax. Pavements are shocking all uneven in Prestwick High Street. Then you got pot holes in Waterloo Road Absolutely shocking.
Jimmy Millar
When I drive from Maybole to Crosshill I am glad I have my own teeth. But,hey we do have a brand new Gaelic road sign!
Danny Cameron
Roads outside Tarbolton are a joke.
Anne Ashford
Midton Rd in Ayr is shocking
Fiona Campbell
Dalmellington drive in Ayr is an absolute disgrace
After a two-year absence, Ayr and District Flower Show returs to Ayr Racecourse in August
Barbara Jackson-Smith
Wish it was still at Rozelle
Ghislaine Underwood
Still have my medal from 1970
Gillian Cameron
Carolyn McKinnon Janice Shindler Laura Charles. Budding gardeners this could be a nice wee day out
Tommy Paine

Residents are still demanding answers six month on from an explosion at a home in Kincaidston
Steven Graham
How can they withold the cause of the explosion. If property is damaged it becomes a criminal act. My insurance company has closed the case putting the liability on my insurance because they cant recoup their losses, print the report or a community will take it to court for reimbursement of monies, plus add in the fear we have lived in for months and the upheavel of our homes to fix gas leaks and replace outdated damaged pipes.
I urge all Kincaidston residents to take legal action against SGN
George McGinn
So, HSE are still trying to decide if a report will be passed to the procurator fiscal five months down the line. There was a gas explosion in Larbert last month, and it was in the news the following week that a report had been submitted
A row broke out after MSP Sharon Dowey slammed South Ayrshire Council after a new reoprt shows residents have be come increasingly dissatifised with refuse collections and street cleaning over the past 10 years. Russell Mowbray
Green bins should be emptied more frequently, street bins and litter cleaning should be improved to help attract tourism.
Jill Clark
Moved into my new house over a month ago, all bins were contaminated so called for them to be emptied, another four calls and they still haven’t been done!! Can’t recycle anything at home so taking it to the dump instead!
Gail Clelland
Green bins should be emptied every week
Furious traders told how they could be forced out of a retail arcade in Ayr town centre.
Phil Laycock
That’s just it , they are doubling the rents so the owners give up. This council have decimated one of the most popular towns in Scotland without any real investment .
They want to build sports complex’s etc ( who is getting those jobs ? ) . If they invested into the town made it an attractive proposition to visit then it might get the footfall to fund itself . Then they can go and give their little projects out ( all £40+ million of it )
Calum Murray
I don’t see how anyone could justify an increase, footfall has dropped significantly so how are shopkeepers supposed to make up the shortfall. This will seal the end of Ayr High Street.
Jim Wallace
Watch many more shops close.
