THE ALTON INN, Kilwinning

Cheap, cheerful and cosy are words that spring to mind when visiting this Kilwinning bar.

Currently, there is a‘Battle of the Bartenders’where patrons can sample their bartender’s favourite concoctions or enjoy one of the many Mad Dog 20/20 themed cocktails. My favourite was the‘Snoop Dug’which is a dragon fruit Mad Dog, mixed with a Kiwi Mad Dog and lemon and lime gin.

The vibe of the Alton was relaxed and a place for families to gather through the day, but I’m sure a night-time visit would prove it to be a happening spot at the weekend.
