A miner’s convalescence home is to be established in Ayrshire.
A large mansion-house is to be bought in the region, whereby £20,000 will be spent on the initial purchase of the property.
A further £30,000 is understood to be spent on the costs of its upkeep.
In total, a sum of £50,000 thereby will come from the Miners’ Welfare Committee and this sum will be allocated to the Ayrshire District to facilitate the scheme.
