MPmarks charity’s milestone
A breast cancer surgeon turned MP helped to mark the 20th anniversary of Cancer Research UK at an event in Westminster last Tuesday.
Dr Philippa Whitford, MP for Central Ayrshire, celebrated the past, present and future of research at the charity event and added: “During my 40 years as a doctor, research advances have made a substantial contribution to the fight against cancer, with more people than ever now surviving the disease. I have seen the immense contribution Cancer Research UK research projects have made to developing new treatments, but further progress can still be made.”
