School break activities and meals for children

South Ayrshire Council will provide school meals and activities for children throughout the Easter holidays.

Children who take part in the council’s holiday lunch programme will be served a homemade roll, packet of crisps/popcorn, a piece of fruit and a 500ml bottle of water. Over the two-week break, children will be able to take part in lots of free, fun activities including golf, canoeing, football, gardening, and even treasure hunts at the Domain Youth Centre in Whitletts, Ayr. There will be youth clubs and activity sessions in the morning, afternoon and some evenings.

Golfing classes are set to take place at Annbank Primary School and

Tarbolton Primary School, and Whitletts Vic’s will be running football camps from 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday over both weeks.

At the Carrick Centre in Maybole, the Easter activities include cooking, getting creative with crafts and sports. There will be similar activities on offer at the Carrick Opportunit­ies Centre in Girvan.
