I contacted you about a long lost family several years ago and got a phone call from one of your researchers who was very helpful.

Unfortunately, he was unable to help me maybe because I’d been given the wrong name of my biological father by my biological mother (ie Bobby Jones).

I had been searching for 48 years for my biological father. I was adopted by a great aunt and uncle, and didn’t find out I was adopted until I was 16, when I found an adoption certificate and discovered who i thought was my aunt in Boston was actually my mother.

My father was a American serviceman,based at the USAF base at Prestwick, Scotland. I started a discreet search almost immediately to no avail.

Then 48 years later my cousin in Canada bought me an ancestry kit.

I didn’t hold out much hope with this. Then, to my amazement, I got a message from a girl in America to say ..... I think I’m your sister!

It turns out she is. And more amazingly, I have five brothers and two sisters, and lots of nieces and nephews who all live in the USA. Sadly my biological father had passed away just a few years earlier. My father’s name was Louis Jerome Walker, known as Jerry, and I’d spent 48 years looking for a Bobby Jones. Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack. It was confirmed two years ago on February 22 that we were siblings and I’m the oldest. We were meant to all meet up in London two years ago but it didn’t come to fruition due to Covid.

They are making a special trip to Scotland just to see me. They arrive on Sunday April17, 2022 and leave on Thursday April 21. They are all accepting of me and I have talked on messenger every day for over two years to one of my sisters, and video and chat to the rest of them. It’s now 50 years that I’ve been waiting to meet my real family- it’s all so exciting. Their mother in the States doesn’t want to know anything so we have to respect that. I hope you don’t mind me contacting you but, as you had been so helpful, I thought I’d give you an update.
