Student’s promendade and parking plea

-

A Tory council candidate vowed to upgrade Prestwick promenade and the children’s play area if his party secures victory at next month’s South Ayrshire Council elections.

Owen North, 20, said he is honoured to be selected as one of the Scottish Conservative candidates for Prestwick for May 5 election.

He said:“This election is our chance to save the Citadel and put a stop to the council’s disastrous plan to replace it with an inferior leisure centre that will cost you, the taxpayer, at least £45 million.

“The Scottish Conservative and Unionist party will instead use that money for community projects throughout South Ayrshire with £1 million going to each ward, including Prestwick, for local community priorities.

“We are committed to upgrading the Prestwick promenade and kids play area, upgrading the major roads in and out of Prestwick, protecting free parking in the town as well as introducing two hours free parking in Ayr and to creating a muchneeded pothole repair fund.”

Mr North has lived and worked in South Ayrshire all his life.

He attends the University West of Scotland.

He added: “This is our chance to totally transform Prestwick and South Ayrshire.”
