Roads budget
East Ayrshire Council’s overall roads budget for 2022/23 will increase to £12.8m.
The move was recently approved at Cabinet level and will allow improvement works to be carried out on a range of projects.
The local authority says investment in the local roads network has increased “significantly” in recent years, going from £2m annually, for carriageway and footway improvements, from 2014 to 2018; rising to £5m in 2017/19 and then £4.2m for 2020/22.
Meanwhile, large-scale projects will continue including the New Cumnock flood scheme.
